Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSAS)

A Small Self Administered Scheme is an occupational scheme that provides members with substantial flexibility and manageability, putting you in control from the investment policy to the underlying assets. A SSAS could be an ideal pension vehicle for a small business to accumulate wealth tax efficiently.

SSAS offer some unique features, such as the ability to grant secured loans to sponsoring employers and to participate in other employer-related investments. A common arrangement is for a SSAS to acquire company premises, and to lease them back to the employer. Employer-related investments enable a company to make tax-deductible payments such as loan interest and rent into a SSAS, simultaneously fulfilling the primary purpose of a SSAS in building up the pension funds of its members for provision of benefits at retirement or following death.
